The Chikasha Ihoo Empowerment Series returns with a new session featuring a prominent Chickasaw woman speaking on important topics related to their point of view. The series highlights the unique perspective of Chickasaw women worldwide.
The first session of 2023 will feature Kayla D. Lewis, Ph.D. Dr. Lewis is a Chickasaw citizen and former elementary classroom teacher, Reading Recovery teacher and literacy coach. Currently an associate professor of literacy at Missouri State University, she teaches graduate courses to students majoring in elementary education, early childhood education and special education.
