BABES (Beginning Alcohol & Addictions Basic Education Studies) is substance abuse prevention education for children in kindergarten through third grade, and is offered through the Chickasaw Nation Health System Department of Behavior Health.

With lessons that include puppetry and music, children learn positive living skills and non-judgmental drug education, while developing self esteem building skills.

In accordance with the U. S. Department of Education, the BABES Program:

  • Teaches the value of staying healthy.
  • Makes children aware and encourages them to be respectful of rules and laws that prohibit drug use.
  • Helps children develop resistance to peer pressure, especially when it pertains to drug use.
