Mission Statement:
To provide American Indians with mental health services which promote behavioral, emotional and social well-being.

About:
The behavioral health department provides services in counseling, psychiatric services, education and training concerning issues such as child abuse/neglect, elder abuse, domestic violence, suicide and substance abuse and detoxification, and social work including individual, family and group counseling, psychiatric services, education and training.

Required forms are available at the addresses below. Psychiatric services are available at the Ada Behavioral Health Clinic. Patient must have an appointment.

Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Outpatient counseling for individuals, couples, families or groups who are experiencing stress in their life situation
  • Information and referral for services that may be beyond our scope of services and/or for persons who may benefit from a referral to services closer to their home
  • Substance abuse services including outpatient treatment, inpatient consults and information & referral
  • Consultation regarding clinical and program issues within the Health System and with outside agencies as needed
  • Social work services on an outpatient basis
  • Community education programs regarding a variety of topics
  • Prevention services including Child Abuse Prevention and Alcohol/Drug Prevention
  • Psychiatric care
  • Crisis Intervention Services are provided by all BH staff during hours of operation and at CAIHF  after hours, weekends and holidays on a call-back basis
  • HIV Counseling, pre- and post- test, is available on a walk-in basis by HIV-certified counselors.

Accessing Services:
Behavioral Health will accept referrals from physicians, nursing staff and other facility staff. Patients, family members and other agency referrals are also accepted.

Eligibility:

  • Patients must be eligible for services through CNDH

Non-emergent patients are scheduled an intake appointment. Emergent patients are seen as soon as possible.
