The audiology department provides hearing evaluations for children and adults, newborn and diabetic hearing screening, hearing aid fitting and adjustments and swim plugs.  This department serves an average of 200 patients each month, and fits more than 400 hearing aids each year. 

Program Requirements:

  • To be eligible for audiology services, participants must be eligible to obtain a chart with the Chickasaw Nation Health System.
  • To be eligible for hearing aids, patients must be Chickasaw and have an active chart at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility in Ada, Oklahoma.
  • A recent audiogram (done by a licensed audiologist) is required.
  • Hearing aid evaluation and fitting must be done at CAIHF.

The audiology department also works with other tribes and Indian Health Services to obtain hearing aids for non-Chickasaws.
