The Chickasaw Nation Re-entry Transitional Employment Program provides services to Chickasaw citizens who have legal barriers to employment. The program allows opportunities for participants to become self-sufficient through life skills training and on-the-job work experience upon release from incarceration.

Must be a citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and have felony conviction(s) or be under current felony deferment. Additional eligibility requirements may apply.

  • Have felony conviction(s) or be under current felony deferment
  • Have violent misdemeanor(s)
  • Unemployed or underemployed
  • No unresolved or pending cases
  • No outstanding warrants
  • Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screening

Completed applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis before approval and applicants will be contacted by re-entry staff.

Program Details

The Chickasaw Nation Re-entry Transitional Employment Program provides services to Chickasaw citizens who have legal barriers to employment. Incarcerated citizens are encouraged to apply at least six months before their projected release date.

The re-entry program provides opportunities for participants to become self-sufficient through life skills trainings and on-the-job work experience. Services are aimed at enhancing work ethics and overcoming employment barriers.

Positive relationships and character building changes are encouraged in order to move participants toward sustainable employment and improved job retention, reducing the potential for future incarceration.
