The Chickasaw Nation Native Youth Community Project (NYCP) is partnering with public schools in Carter and Pontotoc counties to aid Native American children in first through 12th grades with academic achievement.

NYCP focuses on multiple educational aspects to enhance resources and support for children participating in the program such as college and career preparation, academic support and cultural education.

The program can assist with ACT and SAT preparation, college visits, interest assessments, math and reading support programs and much more.

Other aspects will provide licensed counselors and social workers to assist students, as well as, tutoring, family engagement, truancy prevention, monthly cultural and family enrichment programs and student leadership opportunities.

Services will assist students beyond common resources by offering direct educational and family services, while addressing issues that may be causing educational struggles and truancy, including lack of transportation, bullying, undiagnosed hearing and vision problems and more.
