  • Once the home of Chickasaw Governor Douglas H. Johnston, the Chickasaw White House still lives up to one of its names: the mansion on the frontier. The pastoral property will be the setting for the June 30 Independence Day Celebration which will include food, drinks, games and an outdoor movie.

MILBURN, Okla. -- The Chickasaw Nation will celebrate Independence Day with the community by hosting a celebration beginning 4 p.m., Saturday, June 30 at the Chickasaw White House, 6379 East Mansion Drive.

The event is open to the public at no cost and will include food, drinks, games and an outdoor movie.

Summertime favorites like hot dogs, chips, watermelon, cake and homemade ice cream will be served.

Across the White House grounds, attendees will play volleyball, badminton, ring toss, croquet and horseshoes. There will be a corn husk doll make-and-take class, face painting and a cake walk.

A movie on the lawn, “Beauty and the Beast,” will begin at sundown. The film will be the 2017 live-action retelling of the classic fairy tale. Bella is set to make an appearance.
