Summers are for cultural connections, exploring new skills and memories to last a lifetime.

Chickasaw Nation camps, clinics and academies provide enriching experiences for youth and families to explore new interests and recreation in safe, positive environments. Campers can learn more about Chickasaw language and culture through camp activities.

Explore the outdoors, try a new sport, create, innovate and bond with friends.
Summer activities also guide youth to develop leadership skills and prepare for the future.

How to Apply

Some camps, clinics and academies may have varying deadlines, schedules and eligibility requirements. Visit each camp’s webpage to find details and the application. Camp applications can be submitted online, faxed or mailed. Please see the contact information on each camp webpage for additional information.

Application and acceptance reserve your spot in a camp, clinic or academy. Please only apply for the camps you plan to attend.

Benefits of Attending a Chickasaw Nation Camp

  • Keeps a child’s body and mind engaged during school breaks
  • Certain camps, such as Family Camp, welcome the whole family to share a close experience in a fun environment
  • Build relationships with peers and mentors
  • Learn about Chickasaw culture
  • Explore interests in a safe environment for all participants
  • Develop social and leadership skills

Things to Consider When Choosing a Camp

  • Does your desired camp overlap with another?
  • Will the chosen camp fit into your family’s schedule?
  • Can you commit your child to attending the camp in its entirety?
  • Does your child like to spend the night away?
  • Is your child interested in the activities offered at the camp?
  • Is transportation provided by the camp or will you need a transportation plan?
  • Does your child prefer indoor or outdoor activities?

Eligibility

All camp spots are reserved based on Chickasaw preference; however, some welcome all youth. Please review each camp webpage for details.

All camps have age requirements. Applicants must be within the age range by the date of the camp, clinic or academy.

Some camps require documents such as proof of Chickasaw citizenship, report cards or essays. These requirements will be listed on the camp webpage and the application. Incomplete applications cannot be processed and can make your reservation ineligible.

Each camp webpage includes information about:

  • Activities planned during the camp, clinic or academy
  • If the camp is daytime only or overnight
  • If transportation is provided
  • If meals will be served
  • The environment where the camp will take place

Selection Process

Applying for a camp does not guarantee acceptance.

Once your application is processed, you will receive a notification by email or postal mail. If your reservation is confirmed, you may receive additional forms to complete with instructions and a deadline to maintain your reservation.

Canceling Your Reservation

If your child is unable to attend a camp, clinic or academy for any reason, please notify camp staff as soon as possible so your reservation can be transferred to another family. Lack of camp attendance without notification can impact future selection for camps, clinics and academies. Contact information is listed on each camp webpage.
